Dutch sunset - Art print

Inspiration behind Dutch sunset:

Moving from New Zealand to The Netherlands was a big change for me at 16 years old. I had to re-start my whole life: a new language, culture, school, friends, structure, habits, house, city, way of living. I didn’t handle the change very well and ended up becoming depressed. I had suicidal thoughts and didn’t see the point of living anymore. At first, I blamed living in The Netherlands for my miserable mindset. From ages 17-21, my only goal was to go back to New Zealand. When I reached that goal, I realised that the problem was in my mind, not in my external surroundings. So I went on a healing journey and went back to The Netherlands. I slowly found peace in living in The Netherlands when I found belonging within myself. It doesn’t matter where you live because ultimately, it’s about your mindset, your nervous system and your relationship with yourself.
